For a new house, HERS, Inc. can help with a review of the plans, recommendations, an intermediate inspection and a final verification inspection and commissioning of the house complete with blower door testing of whole house leakage including measuring duct leakage to the outside.

Final verification and performance testing includes blower door testing of envelope leakage and duct leakage to the outside.  This is much like commissioning the house and ensuring the house is constructed as planned and will perform as designed and to the full extent of its capabilities.

HERS, Inc. can provide consulting and documentation for Energy Star Home certification, the $2,000 Federal tax credit available to builders of very efficiency homes, and Energy Efficient Mortgage documentation for the mortgage underwriter.

HERS, Inc. provides additional services to  builders and clients that want to go beyond energy efficiency and incorporate other green features in the design and construction of their homes. LEED for Homes and the Model Green Building Guidelines are examples of two Green Building Programs.

You don’t get what you expect, you get what you inspect!

New Homes

New homes can have problems, too. If your new home is not comfortable or your bills seem too high,  find out why.

Arkansas codes for windows are minimal. The heating and air business is a “low-bid driven industry.”

If your house is not certified as an Energy Star Home, have it performance tested! We commission commercial buildings, why not homes?
